東京都出身、アメリカ・ロサンゼルス在住。
2026年現在、東京都在住。
13歳よりアラン・ドーソン・ドラムスクール主幹、アラン・ドーソン・ドラムメソッドの著者である水野オサミ氏に師事し、あらゆる基礎を学びながら、日本在住のスタジオドラマー、ジミー・スミス氏に音楽的なドラムの要素を学ぶ。
16歳よりアメリカ在住。ロサンゼルスの大学在学中よりTOTOのオリジナルドラマー、ジェフ・ポーカロ氏の父である、ジョー・ポーカロ氏の自宅にて長年師事。
同時期に、サンタナやリンゴ・スター・オールスターバンドでお馴染みのスタジオドラマー、グレッグ・ビソネット氏に師事、そして、ロサンゼルスを代表する指導者、フレディ・グルーバー氏にも学ぶ。
グラミー賞受賞のジャズピアニストのビル・カンリフ、歌手のジョアン・ショー・テイラー、オリビア・ニュートン・ジョン、安室奈美恵、いきものがかり、あいみょん、絢香、大原櫻子など、その他様々なメジャーアーティストのレコーディングに参加。
また、ロックの殿堂-ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME-入りを果たした、ザ・ベンチャーズのオリジナル・リードギタリスト、ノーキー・エドワーズ氏の日本公演でのドラマーを務め、サーフ・ミュージックにも常に情熱を注ぐ。
2006年には、沖縄を代表するジャズピアニスト、屋良文雄(やらふみお)氏と共に、自分自身が所属するカリフォルニアの大学で名門ビッグバンドとして知られる、シトラス大学・ブルーノート・スウィング・オーケストラのピックアップメンバーとして、日本ツアーに参加。
アメリカ国内では、様々なレコーディングやツアー、アメリカ最大の音楽フェスティバル、SXSW～サウス・バイ・サウス・ウエスト～や、その他ニューヨークでのショーなどに多数出演。
アメリカ最大のバンド・コンペティション、Emergenza Festival in America(イマージェンザ・フェスティバル)では、ハウス・オブ・ブルースやキー・クラブ、ロキシー、ウイスキー・ア・ゴーゴーなどのハリウッド有名クラブを基点に活動する自身のファンク/ポップバンドが準優勝。
ホイットニー・ヒューストンやスティービー・ワンダーでお馴染みのロサンゼルスのスタジオサックスプレイヤー、ロン・ブラウン氏のドラマーを務める。
同時期より、ビル・カンリフ氏との共演で近年ロサンゼルスで最も注目されている女性シンガー、ジーナ・サプート氏のドラマーも務める。
教育面では、師匠であるジョー・ポーカロ氏やグレッグ・ビソネット氏も昔からの大親友である、エディ・チュドゥーリ氏が創立者であり代表を務めるリズム療法組織、TRAP -The Rhythmic Arts Project-にて、エディ氏から教育手法を学び、アメリカ現地のミュージックスクールや、自身が所属するWorshipバンドが演奏する教会学校のドラム講師などを務め、教育面にも熱を注いでいる。
日本国内の教育面では、自身のドラムスクールを始め、様々なスクールで初心者からプロまで音楽とドラムの楽しさを世間に伝え、常に様々な場所で音楽熱を注いでいる。

Born in Tokyo, later based in Los Angeles, and currently residing in Tokyo as of 2026.
At age 13, TAKA began studying under Osami Mizuno—head of the Alan Dawson Drum School and author of the Alan Dawson Drum Method—while also learning musical drumming concepts from renowned Japan‑based studio drummer Jimmy Smith.
From age 16, TAKA lived in the United States.
While attending college in Los Angeles, TAKA studied for many years at the home of Joe Porcaro, legendary educator and father of TOTO’s original drummer Jeff Porcaro.
During the same period, TAKA studied with studio drummer Gregg Bissonette—known for his work with Santana and the Ringo Starr All‑Starr Band—and also trained under iconic LA educator Freddie Gruber.
TAKA has recorded and played with Grammy‑winning jazz pianist Bill Cunliffe, singer Joanne Shaw Taylor, Olivia Newton‑John, Namie Amuro, Ikimonogakari, Aimyon, Ayaka, Sakurako Ohara, and many other major artists.
TAKA served as the drummer for Nokie Edwards—original lead guitarist of The Ventures and inductee of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame—during his Japan tour, continuing to fuel his passion for surf music.
In 2006, TAKA joined the Japan tour as a pickup member of the prestigious Citrus College Blue Note Swing Orchestra, performing alongside Okinawa’s leading jazz pianist Fumio Yara.
Across the United States, TAKA has appeared in numerous recordings, tours, and major shows—including SXSW (South by Southwest) and various performances in New York.
His funk/pop band earned second place at the Emergenza Festival in America, performing at iconic Hollywood venues such as House of Blues, Key Club, The Roxy, and Whisky a Go Go.
TAKA has also served as drummer for LA studio saxophonist Ron Brown—known for his work with Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder—and for rising Los Angeles vocalist Gina Saputo through collaborations with Bill Cunliffe.
In education, TAKA trained in teaching methods under Eddie Tuduri—founder and director of TRAP (The Rhythmic Arts Project), a rhythm‑therapy organization long connected to Joe Porcaro and Gregg Bissonette.
TAKA taught at local music schools and church programs in the U.S., contributing passionately to music education.
In Japan, TAKA continues to share the joy of music and drumming through his own drum school and various institutions, teaching students from beginners to professionals and inspiring musical passion across many communities.
